Official WB Description

DEAN LEARNS THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS PARENTS IN A FLAS
HBACK EPISODE Dean is transported back in time and is shocked when he lands in Lawrence, Kansas. However, that shock turns to amazement after he runs into a young John Winchester and Mary who have just fallen in love. Dean isn't sure why he was sent back so he begins to enjoy the time with his parents and newfound grandfather, who may be hiding a secret that is key to Sam and Dean's entire predicament.

My review: Dean time travels thanks to Castiel who wanted him to "stop
" something in 1973 There were some references to Back to the Future series which i would mention later. Dean meets his father, a young John Winchester. He also meets Mary Campbell, and her family who were hunters too! Mary's father's name was Samuel which she may have named Sam Winchester after as Samuel is Sam Winchester's Real Name. This episode showed how Azazel(YED) went around making deals with people whom he said he wants nothing in return but would return 10 years later for a slight favour... The episode also shows how Samuel Campbell was against Mary being with John. Mary also expresses her wish to stay away from hunting and for her family too. A young Daniel Elkins is featured too as Dean enters his house to steal/borrow The Colt, though Elkins was reluctant. That's all for my review, don wanna reveal too much :D Oh, finally, when Dean returns, Castiel explains to him that he could not have stopped anything. Everything is destined, jus that the road to it may differ... He tells Dean that Sam is going down a dangerous road and if Dean does not stop it, he and other angels or even God WILL stop it...

Mary had a protection bracelet, filled with different sigils and symbols of protections

Reference to Back to The Future series:
  • When Dean was sitting beside John, a brief view showed how both were sitting similarly which was also featured in BTF when Marty sits beside his Dad and subsequently his son in back to back series.

  • The place where Dean meets John is a cafe, obvious allusion to that of BTF
  • “Okay so what, angels got their hands on some Delorians? How did I get here?” Dean asks. “Time is fluid, Dean,” Castiel replies, looking aorund calmly. “It’s not easy, but we can bend it on occasion.” “Well bend it back! Or tell me what the hell I’m doing here,” Dean pleads. “I told you. You have to stop it,” Castiel says again. “Stop what?” Dean says irritably. “What, is there something nasty after my dad?” Suddenly, Dean hears a car horn and screeching tires, and he turns to look. When he looks back, Castiel is gone. “Oh come on, what are you allergic to straight answers, you son of a bitch?” Dean yells... The Delorian phrase was a reference to BTF as Doc Brown built a time machine using a Delorean(car)
  • When a man enters to talk to John, he simply called John, " Hey Winchester!" just as Biff called Marty's father in the first installment.
To end this, an excerpt from last scenes..
“I couldn’t stop any of it,” Dean says, sitting up. “She still made the deal. She still died in the nursery, didn’t she?” “Don’t be too hard on yourself,” Castiel says. “You couldn’t have stopped it.” “What?” Dean asks, standing up. “Destiny can’t be changed, Dean,” Castiel replies. “All roads lead to the same destination.” “Then why’d you send me back?” Dean asks. “For the truth,” Castiel says. “Now you know everything we do.” “What the hell are you talking about?” Dean asks desperately. Castiel looks over to Sam’s bed, and Dean looks too. It’s empty. “Where’s Sam?” Dean asks. “We know what Azazel did to your brother, what we don’t know is why,” Castiel says. “What his end game is. He went to great lengths to cover that up.” “Where’s Sam?” Dean asks again. “425, Waterman,” Castiel replies. Dean walks past him, grabbing his jacket. “Your brother is headed down a dangerous road, Dean,” Castiel goes on. “We’re not sure where it leads. So stop it. Or we will.” Dean looks at Castiel, scared.

A picture of Dean talking John into buying the Impala instead of a crappy old van.

Ok, as suggested by a friend, I would only post a brief paragraph on the episode so as not to reveal excessive information...

Review:
Opening Montage includes Meg Masters, Agent Hendricksen
This episode, starts with a female hunter who gets killed by a ghost at her own home.
The boys and Bobby comes to investigate and a few other hunters around the area dies.
Sam gets attacked by the ghost of Agent Hendricksen and they return to Bobby's.
Bobby was already captured by twin ghosts as Sam checks out the Yard and Dean inside the house where he confronts Meg(unpossessed).
Later on, they realise it was Rising of the Witnesses which is one of the 66 seals towards Apocalypse.
Bobby performs a ritual as the boys shoots any oncoming ghosts with Rock Salt.

Ritual was successful and Dean talks to Castiel after waking up on the Library Floor....

New Information/Findings/Facts:
  1. Bobby has a Ghost-Proof Panic Room which has all kinds of symbols and sigils
  2. When Lilith killed everyone at the Police Station in Season Three, she took her time to torture everyone for fun.
  3. Agent Hendricksen took 45 minutes to die because of Lilith
  4. Rising of the Witnesses is one of the 66 Seals that was opened by Lilith on road to Apocalypse
  5. When The Last Seal is opened, Lucifer would roam freely on Earth
  6. The Reason why Angels are beginning to walk amongst them is precisely the fear of Apocalypse and to stop summoning of Lucifer.
  7. Meg had a younger sister who killed herself shortly after her disappearance

Yes, that is Meg

Quotes:
  • Dean: Don't you think that if angels were real, that some hunter, somewhere would have seen one... at some point... ever?
Sam: Yeah, you just did, Dean.
Dean: I'm trying to come up with a theory here okay, work with me.
Sam: Dean, we have a theory.
Dean: Yeah, one with a little less fairy dust on it, please.
  • Meg: You don't recognize me? This is what I looked like before that demon cut off my hair and dressed me like a slut
  • Dean: All I know is I was not groped by an angel.
  • Dean: So Bobby was right about the Witnesses. This is some kind of a sign of the Apocalypse.
Castiel: That's why we're here. Big things afoot.
Dean: Do I wanna know what kind of things?
Castiel: I sincerely doubt it, but you need to know.
  • Dean: Ronald. Hey, come on, man. We were pals.
Ronald: That was when I was breathing. Now I'm gonna eat you alive.
Dean: Well, but I'm not a cheeseburger.
  • Sam: You built a panic room?
Bobby: I had a weekend off.
    Dean: Bobby...
    Bobby: What?
    Dean: You're awesome!

  • Castiel: Our numbers are not unlimited. Six of my brothers died in the field this week. You think the armies of Heaven should just follow you around? There's a bigger picture here. You should show me respect. I dragged you out of Hell. I can throw you back in.
  • Castiel: Why do you think we're here, walking among you now for the first time in 2,000 years?
    Dean: To stop Lucifer.
Castiel: (nods) That's why we've arrived.
Dean: Well, bang up job so far.

Overall, Great episode, shows us more of Bobby;s crib.
Unlike the Boys, Bobby has a fixed place and it shows us how he prepares himself if he was to be attacked, as shown by the panic room, compared to the boys who travels here and there.
That is all I Guess? Stay Tuned
